Liden Academy is committed to supporting pupils with additional needs and we are proud to provide a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
We value all our pupils equally as individuals who have a range of ability and learning needs. Our aim is to remove barriers that may hinder pupil’ learning, in order to provide them with the best opportunities to develop their interests, strengths and to meet their full potential regardless of their need.
‘A child or young person has special educational needs if he or she has a learning difficulty or disability which calls for special educational provision to be made for him or her. A learning difficulty or disability is a significantly greater difficulty in learning than the majority of others of the same age. Special educational provision means educational or training provision that is additional to, or different from, that made generally for others of the same age in a mainstream setting in England….. Health care provision or social care provision which educates or trains a child or young person is to be treated as special educational provision.’
The SENDCo for Liden Academy is Linzi Lawrence. Please contact her at [email protected] or via the school office on 01793 531025 if you would like to discuss your child’s special needs or if you require further information.
David Parker is the SEND Governor and can also be contacted via the school office.
